Le Puy, France In March 2004, I visited France, Spain and Germany on the way to a conference in Berlin. This is Le Puy, a very small village in the south of France. We have friends there that we always stay with when we are in the region. More than anywhere I've been, Le Puy exudes the aroma of a small French village. The winding alleys are cobblestoned. The storefronts don't look like they've been restored in several decades.

Only the contemporary posters reveal that Le Puy also participates in larger changes in France as a whole.

| Le Puy is a typical French town in that there is a Catholic church in the center of the town. Only it's not typical in that the church is on the top of a small mountain (right and below). Actually it's a small abbey where they have Mass only once or twice a year, the main church is also located in the town. | ![]() |
