hi karen -- this is a question, not a comment. and it has nothing to do with the canon. i couldn't find an "email me" on your site, so i opted for this route.
do you know anyone who's dry-cleaned a camera bag and lived to tell the tale? i have a tenba (d-15) and it's dusty.
i apologise for how random this is -- but sometimes random is good, maybe. your blog is wise and well-written -- and part of my daily diet.

I've never heard of dry cleaning a bag, but I've washed my Domke's in the clothes washer (standard washing machine), it makes the cloth much softer - sort of like stone washing jeans.
I'd personally just give your bag a nice soak in woolite or other gentle laundry fluid designed for that purpose. Be sure to dry it well -- a window with lots of sunlight and breeze is best. Clothes dryers will reek havoc with it.
Hey! I just wanted to thank you for your site as well. I just found a Bolsey model B at a thrift store, and well "quirky" is definately the word for this pretty little thing. Now, if I can just keep it steady while pressing the shutter release, I'll be happy.
